"My greatest desire is to see my hometown at its absolute best for myself, others, and generations to come."

Who is Wendall McGahee?

Wendall K. McGahee is a seventh generation native of Fernandina Beach.  He received his primary education in Nassau County.  After graduating from Fernandina Beach High School, he went on to pursue higher education at the illustrious Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, in Tallahassee Florida.   Wendall graduated Cum Laude from FAMU, with a Bachelors degree in Philosophy & Religion and a minor in Political Science. Throughout his college career Wendall served as an officer for the Student Government Association, as well as president of Campus Ministries.  Wendall took advantage of the opportunities he had while in Tallahassee, and accepted an internship for the state legislature.  He served two sessions in the House Minority Office of the Florida House of Representatives, and one session in the Florida State Senate.  Wendall is set to complete a degree in Funeral Services from FSCJ next year, while also pursuing a Masters degree in Higher Education-Administration from Florida International University.  Wendall McGahee began serving the city of Fernandina Beach through his work in the funeral industry, at a very young age.  He currently holds the position of lead representative for Funerals by T.S. Warden of Fernandina Beach.  Wendall is also employed by Florida State College at Jacksonville as a case manager in the Division of Student Support Services.  With family roots more than 150 years deep in Fernandina, Wendall has a real connection to this city.  He continues to serve the community through his involvement in local organizations such as, the Police Advisory Board, 4 The Culture, and Nassau Racial Equality Coalition.  By serving on the City Commission, Wendall will work to preserve our city, and represent ALL residents of Fernandina Beach.
